The best motivation for cardio is getting outside and enjoying the trails around the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Take advantage of living in the oh so evergreen Washington state. š²
It may take a little extra effort, but it will always be worth it!
There are plenty of trail options (and stairs) to explore in the greater Seattle area for walking, jogging, running, biking, strollers, hiking, and more. Just click the maps to see some of the trails I like to do.
Greater Seattle Area Paved Trails:
Notes: Gold Creek Pond is a paved loop when there’s no snow (obviously). The I-90 & 520 trails are loud, but worth doing every once in a while. It’s fun to guess how many people have crossed the 520 bridge before you get there (there’s a daily bridge tally on west side).
Greater Seattle Area Non-Paved Trails & Hikes
Note: Yellow pins above are family-friendly trails.
Greater Seattle Area Stairs for Fitness (each set has well over 100 stairs).
Notes: It’s important to warm up flat surface walk or jog for 5-10 minutes first. Then start on stairs at a slower pace. You can repeat flights of stairs or do them as a loop if possible. Always stretch after your workouts.
